Healthcare providers/managers within the Nova Scotia Health Authority are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $1,000 per year (maximum lifetime grant of $2,000) on behalf of a QEII patient (regardless of the patient’s location of residence).
Eligible amenities and necessities include:
- Lodging (during healthcare appointments)
- Home utilities (such as power, home heating oil, water bills or phone services)
- Transportation costs (travel required for healthcare appointments)
- Home medical equipment, medical supplies or medicine not covered by a current medical plan
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed approximately twice a month until all funds have been allocated for the year.
