The QEII Foundation is proud to work with community champions, like the Boyd family, who are the catalysts behind the Jordan Boyd Celebrity Golf Challenge (JBCGC), hosted in memory of their son and brother.
In the summer of 2013, the Boyd family tragically lost their 16-year-old son, Jordan, to an undiagnosed heart condition called Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC). Just shy of one year later, the first Jordan Boyd Celebrity Hockey Challenge was born to celebrate Jordan’s life and love for hockey – and raise critical funds for inherited heart disease research to reduce the incidence of sudden cardiac death and create awareness through the Jordan Boyd Foundation.
In 2021, this community took its fundraising challenge to the greens in honour of Jordan in our first-ever Jordan Boyd Celebrity Golf Challenge powered by CIBC, on July 29, 2021 at Chester Golf Course.
