RIDER IMPACT
Revolutionizing treatment and care for cancer patients in Atlantic Canada
Over $5.6-million raised to date. And impact beyond measure.
Each year, funds raised through Ride for Cancer powered by BMO Bank of Montreal support the full spectrum of cancer care by purchasing vital equipment and new technologies at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.
Our Ride community rose to an epic challenge in 2021, raising more than $1.75 million net for new genetic sequencing technology at the QEII. This technology is used to analyze the genes of tumour samples to identify the most targeted and effective treatments for cancer patients.
World-leading cancer research is already happening for Atlantic Canadians with funds raised through Ride for Cancer powered by BMO Bank of Montreal. A Zebrafish Core laboratory has been activated at the QEII, studying the ways cancer cells develop resistance to cancer drugs by injecting tumours into guppy-sized aquarium fish. This groundbreaking research is aiming for better ways to fight and control cancers.
New Treatment Alternatives
Funds raised throughRide for Cancer powered by BMO Bank of Montreal helped purchase new Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) technology, which provides a safer and less-invasive alternative to diagnosing lung cancer and lymphoma.
Patient Support
