Today is Giving Tuesday! A day dedicated to giving back. After the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the season of giving and encourages charities, companies and individuals to join together and rally for meaningful causes. Our community has the opportunity to band together and support causes that make a positive impact.
This Giving Tuesday, our community has the opportunity to come together to make a difference for patients, like Barrie MacFarlane, who are incredibly grateful for the care they have received at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.
surgical robotics patient story
A word from a grateful patient.
"I was the second individual to receive robot-assisted surgery at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. I didn’t know anything about this new tool, but I had full confidence in my incredible surgeon, Dr. Ross Mason. We need this technology to stay here at the QEII. By giving a gift to robot-assisted surgery, you can make a meaningful impact on families whose lives are touched by prostate cancer – like mine."
- Barrie MacFarlane, Dartmouth, NS
double your impact
Your gift, doubled, by the Conter Family.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, we have an opportunity to keep Atlantic Canada’s first surgical robot at the QEII Health Sciences Centre and continue to transform cancer care for our loved ones.
This year, Dr. Howard Conter and his family are matching all donations made to robot-assisted surgery at the QEII Foundation up to $100,000 until December 31, 2019.
“As a physician who refers patients to the QEII for this treatment – but also a son whose family has been touched by prostate cancer and other diseases – this is a project and cause that’s very important to me."
- Dr. Howard Conter, Halifax, NS
