    Give a gift of RRSPs or RRIFs

A gift from your retirement plan like a RRSPs or RRIFs can mean tax savings for you and enhanced health care for future generations.

Your RRSP and RRIF have grown in a tax sheltered environment. But in the future they will be one of your most heavily taxed assets. Aside from a few allowable roll-overs, 100% of the fund will be taxed as income when the fund is paid out.

Naming the QEII Foundation as beneficiary of some or a portion of your plan will provide a tax credit that will offset this income tax. You can name the QEII Foundation as sole beneficiary or one of multiple beneficiaries.

The gift is simple to make. Just request a ‘Change of Beneficiary’ form from your plan provider and name the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation as beneficiary of all or a portion of the RRSP or RRIF.  Don’t forget to return the document to your provider.
