    Infusion Therapy for Treatment-Resistant Depression

Ensuring Nova Scotians have accessible and equitable mental health care support.

Thanks to generous donor support of the QEII Foundation’s $100-million We Are campaign, Nova Scotian now have access to an infusion therapy option for treatment-resistant depression at the QEII Health Sciences Centre — providing life-changing treatment for the estimated 17,000 Nova Scotians living with treatment-resistant depression.

This infusion therapy is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to bring remarkable — almost immediate — relief to severe and untreatable cases of depression. But barriers to infusions have been high as traditionally there has been limited access and long wait times for this treatment option.
