Comfort & Care Grant Program

All QEII departments and programs and Nova Scotia community-based adult programs and clinics are eligible to apply for grants of up to $5,000 – awarded to projects that demonstrate direct benefit to patients and/or their families. These may include patient amenities, resource materials, or furnishings – to name a few. They are not intended for computers, research projects, education or part-time staff costs.

Applications are now open, and we welcome all Nova Scotia Health staff who work at the QEII Health Sciences Centre or Nova Scotia Hospital, or a community-based program or clinic within Nova Scotia to apply.

As of 2023, our QEII Foundation Comfort & Care grants have disbursed just over $1.968 million to support items that might otherwise not be funded from existing health center budgets, with grants of $5,000 or less. Grants are awarded in the categories of Patient Comforts, Patient and Family Education, Patient and Family Furnishings and Patient Recreation and Activities. This year, updated criteria allowed the inclusion of adult healthcare programs located within our communities. Below is the summary of awarded grants.
