The report showcases QEII Foundation’s commitment to transforming health care and tackling some of the pressure and needs facing our system. In 2021 – 2022, $11.73 million was funded for advanced patient care, here in Atlantic Canada. Through generous support of our donor community and volunteer leadership, the following impacts were made possible:
- $1.2 million committed for COVID-19 Recovery for more appointment times and increased access, tackling wait times and reducing backlogs for patients
- $52,240 to alleviate patients’ financial stressors through Patient Essentials grants
- $4 million raised for Atlantic Canada’s first hybrid operating room (OR), transforming surgical care
- $1.9 million net raised by BMO Ride for Cancer, including a $200,000 match, unlocking more personalized cancer treatment options than ever before
- $2.16 million in total research projects supported to detect, investigate, and improve care for patients
- $436,054 raised by community fundraising, bringing communities closer together, inspiring generosity
- $973,987 for education support, nurturing tomorrow’s healthcare professionals
- $258,025 in memorial gifts and tribute giving, for recognizing and remembering loved ones
- $1.69 million in gifts of securities for life-changing investments in health care
- $2.05 million received from gifts in wills, supporting tomorrow’s health care with a legendary commitment
